The original Daymaker team included Teenie Walters of Franklin, PA, and Mary Peterson of Titusville, PA, the two middle children of Pat and Lefty Hynes. They grew up in Oil City and graduated from Oil City Senior High school.
Mary is working solo for this endeavor, and Teenie has agreed to help out with the gift orders/sets. YAY!
Why soap making? The reason they started making soap was to get away from using products containing additives/preservatives and get creative with a useful product. Soap making has an interesting history. The more they learned the more they broadened their horizons. They have soap recipes the way that most people have cookie recipes. Soap making involves some chemistry, math, and creativity with use of herbs, flowers, essential oils, and more. This is why it is more enjoyable than when our ancestors made it.
The Daymaker name came about after trying out the Lavender Oatmeal soap for the first time. From shaving soap, to peppermint, to calendula orange, castile, hunters soap, and everything in between (even a shampoo bar!) the are confident chances are good that when you use it, it will “Make Your Day”
